Home Health Party

Well, I just finished hosting a Home Health Party and it went great!  We had 9 people in attendance, including three little cuties.

Here was the format of our party:

*  Intro Mission:  “Healthy Child Healthy World seeks to promote health and well being by:  Expanding awareness and understanding of environmental hazards to children’s heatlh, helping the public learn about healthier practices, solutions, and products in the marketplace, encouraging daily action and informed lifestyle choices, creating standards and policies for safer products, foods, materials, and chemicals used in the home-promoting safer options and new alternatives, advocating for and supporting corporate policies and governmental legislation that protect children from environmental risks, and engaging communities to make wise choices and responsible decisions so families can flourish.
*  “Creating Healthy Environments for Children”  DVD and discussion
*  Talked about the “5 Easy Steps” and showed products.  Samples were given at this time and guests spoke about experiences they’ve had with similar products.  Guests asked questions as well.
*  I talked about Chlorine and some research I had done on chlorine.
*  Talked about my uses of baking soda and vinegar in my home.
*  Made brown sugar body scrub.  All you do is mix 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup olive oil, and 2 Tbsp. of honey.  I discussed how I use it for my personal body care.
*  Talked about aromatic garland to ‘naturally’ scent homes for the holidays.
*  Recommended guests go to www.healthychild.org to take Health Home Quiz.

Here are some pictures from the party:

Samples, samples, samples!!!

Samples, samples, samples!!!

We all had a good time.  I would personally say that a smaller amount of people worked well for this type of party.  It was nice to be able to field questions as they came up and have some discussion about issues.

We enjoyed organic smoothies and mostly organic honey bars.

Hopefully, at least one person will make a change in their environment.  I’m excited just to share all I’ve learned with others and point them to some helpful resources.
